Area Police
Approximately fifty automobiles have been marked with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the German town of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to police.
Vehicles, walls and postal boxes were vandalized, occasionally with swastikas, they announced in a official communication.
Police state they were alerted in the late hours on Wednesday night, when a individual noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a red-colored liquid.
The substance had been applied in the shape of a banned symbol, they stated.
Officers then located multiple other smeared automobiles and house walls in the surrounding area.
These symbols are prohibited in Germany under laws prohibiting the public exhibition of symbols from the Nazi era.
Officials report initial examinations indicate the fluid was probably human bodily fluid.
"At present there remains no clue as to where it came from; authorities are presently not informed of any physical harm in relation with the event," they commented.
Municipal representatives said they were working "to solve the incident" and have requested to the residents for information.
A senior official stated the attack made him stunned and had to be addressed rapidly.
"This incident hits the core of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the extremist terrorist attack five years ago," he stated on online, referring to the killing of nine victims by a shooter aiming at people of migrant background in five years prior.
